Import Export Code (IEC or IE Code) is mandatory for carrying out import/export business. IE Code is issued by the Directorate General of Foreign Trade (DGFT) and it will be the same as that of the PAN of the applicant. There will not be any new number for carrying out import or export transactions. IEC is necessary for availing benefits offered to the exporters.

- Digital Photograph of Managing Partner / Designated Partner

- Cancelled Cheque leaf of firm or Bank Certificate
For Company
- Digital Photograph of Managing Director / Director
- PAN card of Company
- Cancelled Cheque leaf of company or Bank Certificate
For Registered Society / Trust
- Digital Photograph of Secretary / Managing Director
- PAN card of Society / Trust
- Cancelled Cheque leaf of firm or Bank Certificate

No, IE Code doesn’t requires filing of any returns or forms periodically
What is the validity of IE Code
IE Code has lifetime validity. It do not require renewals
Do we need to intimate any changes on the details furnished on the application
Yes, any change in the details furnished in the application should be intimated to DGFT.
